The ever changing dining scene has transformed over the years, from small mom-and-pop diners to large chain restaurants that have spread over the country. Do you know what a supper club is? Many millennials have never even heard of the phrase before. Supper clubs were once a booming style of eatery, particularly in the Midwest where some still survive. The Five O’Clock Steakhouse is one of the remaining supper clubs, and it has just celebrated its 70th birthday.
The Five O’Clock Steakhouse was formerly known as Coerper’s Five O’Clock Club, and have been entertaining and feeding people for 70 years and counting now. Today, live music is held on Friday nights, and the supper club atmosphere of twinkling string lights and ordering at the bar traditions still are practiced.
