Being a good neighbor and good citizen is important to me and as the managing partner of a long-lived, classic Milwaukee restaurant, I am happy to lend a hand to local dedicated, caring and hard-working organizations.
That’s why I’ve begun a tradition of donating a portion of proceeds each month to a local nonprofit (or a couple of them) working to help fellow Milwaukeeans in need.
So that the donations can have a wide-ranging effect, I’ve tried to include a variety of organizations working in many different sectors, from meal programs for the hungry to animal welfare to veterans organizations to groups offering services to the homeless and to women and families in need.
In August we support Milwaukee County Historical Society, which works hard to preserve our collective history via organizing exhibitions, managing historic sites, presenting awards, collecting and preserving historical treasures, offering to the public use of its extensive collection via its research library, and more.
